A four-year-old girl has died following a house fire in Northumberland.<\/p>\n

The fire happened at 9.30pm on Monday, on Kingsley Road, Lynemouth, and the girl died at the scene in the home.<\/p>\n

A woman in her 20s and a two-year-old girl received medical treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital.<\/p>\n

Both are in hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

A cordon was put in place and officers remained in the area to carry out inquiries.<\/p>\n

Following the fire, police launched an investigation and Detective Chief Inspector Louise Jenkins, the senior investigating officer on the case, said: \u2018This is an absolutely devastating incident in which a young girl has tragically lost her life.<\/p>\n

\u2018All of our thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.<\/p>\n

\u2018Inquiries remain at a very early stage, and with the support of our partners from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service we are determined to establish exactly what happened.<\/p>\n

\u2018We are asking anyone with information \u2013 no matter how small or insignificant it may seem \u2013 to come forward and share what they know.\u2019<\/p>\n
