dropped a football trophy while on stage. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s number two raised some eyebrows after he broke a trophy during the Ohio State University\u2019s visit to the <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/white-house\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/white-house\/\">White House<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Vice President \u2013 an alumnus of the university \u2013 lifted the football trophy to hand it to the coach, Ryan Day. <\/p>\n<p>But it fell apart, with its bottom section smashing on stage before it rolled away as the football team watched on and could see wincing. decided to break it.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/13\/uk-businesses-hit-trump-tariffs-given-10-000-000-000-support-22900796\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/13\/uk-businesses-hit-trump-tariffs-given-10-000-000-000-support-22900796\/\">sweeping tariffs<\/a> continue to dominate the headlines \u2013 but now Vance has hinted that the UK could be exempt. <\/p>\n<p>Vance said he is optimistic that the two countries will strike a beneficial deal.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with UnHerd, Vance said the President affinity. href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/russia\/\">Russia<\/a> \u2018that\u2019s 20 times\u2019 its size.<\/p>\n<p>The US president <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/02\/19\/trump-brands-zelensky-modestly-successful-comedian-done-a-terrible-job-22589664\/\"> among other things<\/a>, described Zelensky as a \u2018dictator without elections\u2019 who \u2018has done a terrible job\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said: \u2018The mistake was letting the war happen, if [Joe] Biden were competent, and if Zelensky were competent, and I don\u2019t know that he is, we had a rough session with this guy [Zelensky].<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He just kept asking for more and more that war should have never been allowed to happen. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018That war, I went four years and Putin wouldn\u2019t even bring it up. I want to stop the killing.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And I think we\u2019re doing well in that regard. (AP Photo)\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/softnary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_247403651-251b.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>The aftermath of Russia\u2019s Sunday missile attack that killed at least 21 civilians in Sumy, Ukraine (Picture: AP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>About 67,000 Ukrainian soldiers\u00a0have been killed in the four-year war against Russia, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/lostarmour.info\/ukr200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lostarmour.info<\/a>, which tracks death-related information like obituaries or funeral announcements.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of this year, the United Nations\u00a0said about 12,500 civilians, including 650 children, have died.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While some 95,000 people fighting in Putin\u2019s name have been killed, an analysis by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cgkm7lly61do\">BBC<\/a><\/strong> in February\u00a0found.<\/p>\n<p>Trump added: \u2018You take a look at Putin. I\u2019m not saying anybody\u2019s an angel. Biden could have stopped it and Zelensky could have stopped it and Putin should never have started it. Everybody\u2019s to blame.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s comments come a day after 60 Minutes aired an interview with Zelensky in which he said Trump officials are living in an \u2018altered reality\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018First and foremost, we did not launch an attack,\u2019 he told CBS\u2019 Scott Pelley, addressing Trump\u2019s false claims that Ukraine ignited the war. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018There is an aggressor and there is a victim.
