Millions of families across the UK will see money land in their bank accounts sooner than expected this month. <\/p>\n

People claiming Child Benefit receive the payment<\/a> every four weeks or so, though the day will differ slightly if there\u2019s a bank holiday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now that winter has all but thawed away, it\u2019s entering that beautiful time of year when there seems to be a day off \u2013 or two \u2013 every month<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The next bank holiday is Good Friday on April 18 and Easter<\/a> Monday following not far behind on April 21. <\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tWhat is Child Benefit?\t\t\t<\/h2>\n
\n

Child Benefit is money paid to parents or guardians raising a child under 16 or a young person under 20 if they are in approved education or training. <\/p>\n

A person responsible for a child aged 16 or 17 \u2013 the cut-off point for the payment \u2013 can still receive Child Benefit if they meet HMRC<\/a>\u2019s \u2018child extension<\/a>\u2019 rules.<\/p>\n

The benefit isn\u2019t means-tested<\/a>, so it isn\u2019t based on how much someone earns. Instead, it\u2019s a sum sent out every four weeks or so.<\/p>\n

Only one person can claim the money per household. <\/p>\n

It also gives claimants National Insurance Credits that count towards their state pension. <\/p>\n

A Child Benefit payment is\u00a0\u00a326.05 per week for their eldest or only child \u2013 or about \u00a3104.20 a month. <\/p>\n

Additional children will receive \u00a317.25 per week.<\/p>\n

In 2023, 7.65 million families claimed Child Benefit. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

If you\u2019re due a benefit cheque on either of these days, you\u2019ll be paid the previous day instead. <\/p>\n

This is because neither the Department for Work and Pensions\u00a0(DWP) nor HMRC pays welfare on bank holidays. <\/p>\n

Child Benefit is usually paid on a Monday or Tuesday but as it\u2019s Easter, you\u2019ll receive the cash this Thursday instead, the government says<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Child Benefit\u00a0<\/p>\n

Disability Living Allowance<\/p>\n

Employment and Support Allowance\u00a0<\/p>\n

Income Support<\/p>\n

Jobseeker\u2019s Allowance\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pension Credit\u00a0<\/p>\n

Personal Independence Payment\u00a0(PIP)<\/p>\n

State pension\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tax Credits\u00a0<\/p>\n

Universal Credit<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Universal Credit<\/a> will also be popped into your bank account a little earlier, too. Rather than this Friday or Monday, it\u2019ll arrive on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The same goes for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) \u2013 a payment for people living with a long-term physical or mental health condition.<\/p>\n

State Pension cheques are also expected to come early as they\u2019re handled by DWP.<\/p>\n

While money coming sooner rather than later is always a good thing, households should be aware that it means they will be waiting slightly longer for their next payment. <\/p>\n
