Vladimir Putin<\/a> flouted his own 30-hour Easter<\/a> ceasefire almost 3,000 times, claims Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Volodymyr Zelensky<\/a> accused the Russian<\/a> leader of making a mockery of his own \u2018truce\u2019 over the weekend with repeated attacks on his country.<\/p>\n

He said FTP drone incursions and firing on Ukrainian territory, including with heavy weapons, amounted to 2,839 incidents.<\/p>\n

Russia officially ended its so-called truce shortly after midnight last night with aerial bomb strikes<\/a> on Sumy and Kharkiv border regions, with explosions also reported in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Sumy,, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.<\/p>\n

The attacks come as Ukraine faces pressure from the US<\/a> to agree major concessions in a Donald Trump peace package.<\/p>\n

Footage from the 30-hour \u2018ceasefire\u2019 period, which started on Saturday, shows a humanitarian excavation car\u00a0near Kostyantynivka\u00a0hit by a Russian drone.<\/p>\n

The car was first attacked by a drone with a shrapnel charge, then two FPV drones appear to target people, including a married couple being evacuated.<\/p>\n

Among the injured were several children.<\/p>\n<p>Zelensky had pushed for the 30-your supposed pause to be extended into a 30-day ceasefire, but Putin refused and resumed fighting today, casting strong strong doubts the Russian leader is ready for any peace initiative. <\/p>\n<p>Three weeks ago, he said in words he appears to be sticking to: \u2018Not long ago I said we\u2019d grind them [Ukraine] down \u2014 now it looks like we\u2019ll finish them off.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Trump peace plan makes clear the US would recognise Crimea \u2013 invaded by Putin in 2014 \u2013 as Russian, in peace deal, which currently seems unlikely.<\/p>\n<p>It would designate territory around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant \u2013 the largest in Europe and now held by Russia in invaded territory \u2013 as neutral, and under US control.<\/p>\n<p>The occupied Ukrainian territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson would not be recognised as Russian by the US.<\/p>\n<p>But nor would these regions be returned to Kyiv, and would remain under Putin\u2019s military hegemony.<\/p>\n<p>The US draft does not propose a cap on Ukrainian military forces, nor ban Western military support for Kyiv.<\/p>\n<p>Nor does it rule out the deployment of European troops in Ukraine \u2013 which is likely to face major Moscow objections.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item \u2018denazification\u2019 of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said on his Truth Social network: \u2018Hope Russia and Ukraine make a deal this week.
