data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a> may walk away from <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/ukraine\/\">Ukraine<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/03\/putin-ignores-trumps-call-peace-strikes-zelenskys-hometown-22842577\/\">peace efforts <\/a>in a matter of days if he can\u2019t end the war, a <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/us-news\/\">US<\/a> official has said.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of State Marco Rubio said: \u2018We need to determine very quickly now, and I\u2019m talking about a matter of days, whether or not this is doable.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Mr Rubio had been in <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/paris\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Paris<\/a> holding high-level talks with European and Ukrainian officials. <\/p>\n<p>He said he and special envoy Steve Witkoff had began \u2018to talk about more specific outlines of what it might take to <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/russia-ukraine-conflict\/\">end the war<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018If it\u2019s not possible, if we\u2019re so far apart that this is not going to happen then I think the president is probably at a point where he\u2019s going to say An employee of a confectionery shop sought medical attention.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The attack on Sumy follows <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/18\/putins-deadly-easter-missile-onslaught-targets-cake-factory-injures-children-22931524\/\">another strike on Palm Sunday <\/a>that Ukrainian President <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/volodymyr-zelenskyy\/\">Volodymyr Zelensky <\/a>said was \u2018right in the heart of the city\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>It killed 34 people, including two children and injured 117 others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Got a story?
