{"id":2543,"date":"2025-04-22T05:57:45","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T05:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/softnary.com\/?p=2543"},"modified":"2025-04-23T08:55:34","modified_gmt":"2025-04-23T08:55:34","slug":"dad-died-suddenly-a-day-after-daughter-was-killed-in-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/softnary.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/22\/dad-died-suddenly-a-day-after-daughter-was-killed-in-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Dad died suddenly a day after daughter was killed in crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"646\" height=\"363\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22948723 lazyload\" alt=\"Shelly Feeney\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/softnary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_248395070-e5f5.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Shelly Feeney, a mother of two and a classroom assistant, died on Saturday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A \u2018much-loved\u2019 mum was involved in a fatal car crash the day before her father\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>Shelley Feeney, aged in her 30s, spent nearly a week in hospital after the incident in Ballymoney, <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/northern-ireland\/\">Northern Ireland<\/a>, on Monday, April 14.<\/p>\n<p>Tragically, her dad James died suddenly on April 15. <\/p>\n<p>Shelley was airlifted to hospital but died on April 19 after \u2018bravely fighting for her life\u2019 in intensive care.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Bushvalley Primary School, where Shelley worked, said: \u2018It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Miss Shelley Feeney.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Shelley was not only a highly esteemed and valued classroom assistant, but she was also a friend and a very much loved member of the Bushvalley school family and community.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We pass on our sincere sympathies to Stephen, Jake and Sophie and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family circle at this very difficult time.\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"646\" height=\"625\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22948716 lazyload\" alt=\"Shelly Feeney\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/softnary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_248348080-ba8f-e1745301286971.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Shelly Feeney is survived by her son and daughter<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>More than \u00a322,000 was donated to a GoFundMe campaign launched by Mosside Presbyterian Church to help the family cover the cost of visiting Shelley in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>One donor called Gillian said: \u2018Money cannot help this tragic loss.
