gridlocked after a man scaled the railings of the famous structure.<\/p>\n<p>Blackwall Tunnel also shut due to a lorry crash, causing traffic chaos across east London.<\/p>\n<p>The man at Tower Bridge was seen sitting on top of the railings.<\/p>\n<p>He was later helped down by firefighters on a turntable ladder and taken to hospital by ambulance. <\/p>\n<p>The bridge has now reopened.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after a man holding a Palestinian flag climbed Big Ben\u2019s Elizabeth Tower and remained there for more than 16 hours this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>He has since been<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/10\/man-charged-protester-spotted-climbing-big-bens-clock-tower-22698195\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/10\/man-charged-protester-spotted-climbing-big-bens-clock-tower-22698195\/\"> arrested.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There has been no indication that the Tower Bridge incident is protest-related. <\/p>\n<p>A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: \u2018We were called at 10.36am today (10 March) to reports of an incident on Tower Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART).<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We treated a man at the scene and took him to hospital.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>City of London Police posted on X saying that the man had \u2018safely come down from the railings on Tower Bridge\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after, Tower Bridge confirmed the bridge had reopened and that \u2018visitors with pre-booked tickets will be accommodated all day\u2019. <\/p>\n<div class=\"factbox\" data-ico=\"factbox_article\" shut for hours and massive queues were spotted on the A12 from Hackney.<\/p>\n<p>It has now reopened, but there are still \u2018residual delays\u2019, according to TfL.<\/p>\n<p>There were no reports of injuries.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0Metropolitan Police\u00a0spokesperson said earlier today:\u00a0\u2018Police\u00a0were called at around 8.50am\u00a0on Monday (March 10) to reports of collision in the southbound Blackwall Tunnel.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018A lorry collided with part of the tunnel.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018No reports of any injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The southbound tunnel remains closed while the incident is dealt with.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>Got a story?
