spare the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/donald-trump\/\">Yesterday, Trump<\/a>\u00a0warned Vladimir Putin over \u2018very bad\u2019 consequences if\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/russia\/\">Russia<\/a>\u00a0didn\u2019t get on board the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/03\/11\/zelensky-accepts-30-day-ceasefire-deal-but-ball-is-now-in-russias-court-22710015\/\">30-day ceasefire<\/a>\u00a0proposal.<\/p>\n<p>In a new post on Truth Social, he said: \u2018We had very good and productive discussions with President <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/vladimir-putin\/\">Vladimir Putin<\/a> of <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/russia\/\">Russia<\/a> yesterday, and there is a very good chance that this horrible, bloody war can finally come to an end \u2014 BUT, AT THIS VERY MOMENT, THOUSANDS OF UKRAINIAN TROOPS ARE COMPLETELY SURROUNDED BY THE RUSSIAN MILITARY, AND IN A VERY BAD AND VULNERABLE POSITION. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018I have strongly requested that President Putin that their lives be spared. This would be a horrible massacre, one not seen since World War II. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, said it is important not to \u2018get ahead\u2019 of the question of responding to the proposal, Reuters reports.<\/p>\n<p>Putin made a visit to the Kursk region at the frontline of the Russia-Ukraine war.
